Let us introduce you to Keld community Garden. A small but perfectly formed cottage planted community garden that sits comfortably in Keld Close Uckfield Sussex.

This pretty garden consists of gravel pathway circling a central planted bed of mature lavender and flowering shrubs, mixed with bright flowers that attract insects and pollinators.

The summer season see's it erupt into towering stems of colour from Hollyhocks of all shades and the heady scent of lavender fills the air. Community benches dot the garden with well stocked beds either side, allowing time and a place to sit while enjoying the scent and beauty of the planting.

The garden came to be built at Keld Close from funds raised via local authority and supported by keen volunteer residents to place a community garden in this space.  Working alongside Nag members the Keld residents worked together to make this magical place and continue to raise funding and volunteer hours of time and upkeep, mainly headed by one elderly but much able bodied and determined local resident.

The area is leased from the local Authority the same as the other community  green space mentioned on this website through New Town Action Group and although independent it contributes in NAG meetings and feedback working together as volunteers of New Town Uckfield.
